I Will Come Home
06:40
|
|||
Wake before the sunrise, a storm upon the horizon
Shake my head awake again, and prepare to walk some more
Clouds reflect warm and distant towns, there's you somewhere in that silent air
Paths that cross without knowing how, in streams below and worlds up there.
Hills that I cursed over, fade over my shoulder
Looking on I bring to you, years I shouldn't count now
I will come home, but when the skies have cleared for now
You can't deserve this, it's all too much for now
Fields decide on the tracks I'll form, and rain cores shall plot the miles
Taking over the thoughts that cry, carpeting the darkness for a while
I will come home, but when the skies have cleared for now
You can't deserve this, it's all too much for now

Holiday
05:35
|
|||
It's late at night, and music fades away,
Another look, another place to stay
After the clock, has faded into sleep,
It's time to dream, of the last day in May
We'll find the time, we'll look ahead
Taking our clues, just from the paths we've led,
Got the right shoes, got the right raincoat,
There's always something left on the bed
Doing things our own way, and turn it into a holiday
Plan out another way, and doing it our own way
We cross the bridge, and settle for an hour,
and break the harmony, by numbering the tower
The pylon wires will follow us some more,
Another station, and music to explore
A sky of clouds, a land of trees
And every marvellous encounter that we seize
And yet it feels, we never are alone,
The next adventure, is the one when we're back home

Beauty In The Skies
04:44
|
|||
Now I've reached the coastline, and the day is looking tired
Head just nicely spinning from the views that I've admired
Fairy lights are swaying in the front of someone's porch
Dancing smoke from sand-dune fires, the sight I had desired
Finally here again
Saves me now and then
Beauty in the skies
Finally here again
Years ago it felt right, walking on the cliffs
Holes along the footpath, you could view the sea below
Now I feel more careful, but safety feels too numb
I'm dancing in the sunshine, and laughing in the snow
Now I've reached the station, where signal lights still glow
Heading for a city, and another crazy show
Music fills the blue streets, and rattles round the towers
A thousand ways to live life, with many more to go

This Painting
03:46
|
|||
If I could take this painting, and turn it into dreams,
I'd run away through those streets, and conjure frightening themes
Through the lights and colours, I live a separate way
A painting that cost nothing, has led my life astray
Fools will follow money, and fritter it away,
I will always have this, until my final day
Pictures tell a hundred tales, and every one is true,
I'll start it really simple, then take it to extremes
I waste too much time eating, and talking to my friends,
I'll savour what the paint reveals, the joy that never ends
If I could take this painting, and turn it into dreams,
I'd run away through those streets, and conjure frightening themes

The Summer Walk

Fountains glow, feel like
water flow, and then
Stars float pale, silent
Fields fading, twilight
Times shared and hallowed,
Calm waters, cradle light
Lighthouse stairs, twisting
Bright lens flares, twisting
Creatures graze, seaward
Tower clouds, sky-chase
Sleeping days, dreamscape
Falling mist, light fade
Walking days, sand dune
Kites dance out, tail-slide
